Calibration

The accuracy of temperature sensors used to monitor the environment where critical materials are stored should be verified at least once a year. As well, this may be required by various regulatory bodies. SmartScan fully supports traditional calibration methods accomplished at the ambient temperature by comparing the value produced by the sensor with the temperature read by a recently calibrated precision instrument. In order to optimize the time and expense required during the calibration process we have created the EZcal™ line of quick and accurate calibration products. SmartScan Technologies is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited lab. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Certificate

Calibration with EZcal™ products

We fully support the traditional calibration techniques. However, traditional techniques require a fair amount of time and manpower. Time is money, and if “3-Point” calibration needs to be performed in fifty sensors in a large warehouse, we have a more economical procedure.

The SmartScan EZcal system provides a fresh approach that significantly reduces the time and effort required to
calibrate warehouse temperature and temp/humidity sensors in the field. The method is quick, straightforward, and accurate (see below).  This is possible through SmartScan CQ and CZ sensors’ built-in data acquisition devices that produce digital values in engineering units (°C for example).

To use EZcal sensors for calibration:

  1. Order the number of sensors you need to replace/calibrate in your facility.
  2. Receive sensors from our pool of fully refurbished and recalibrated devices.
Each sensor is provided with a 3-point calibration certificate and a full one-year warranty.
  3. Upon receiving the sensors, simply unplug the old ones and plug in the new.
  4. Send the old sensors back to SmartScan Technologies for a credit.

Sensors will be tested, refurbished, recalibrated, and placed back in the EZcal pool. EZcal Ambient Sensors: Temperature and Temperature/Humidity with easily switched plug and play sensor components
