The accuracy of temperature sensors used to monitor the environment where critical materials are stored should be verified at least once a year. As well, this may be required by various regulatory bodies. SmartScan fully supports traditional calibration methods accomplished at the ambient temperature by comparing the value produced by the sensor with the temperature read by a recently calibrated precision instrument. In order to optimize the time and expense required during the calibration process we have created the EZcal™ line of quick and accurate calibration products.
We fully support the traditional calibration techniques. However, traditional techniques require a fair amount of time and manpower. Time is money, and if “3-Point” calibration needs to be performed in fifty sensors in a large warehouse, we have a more economical procedure.
The SmartScan EZcal system provides a fresh approach that significantly reduces the time and effort required to
calibrate warehouse temperature and temp/humidity sensors in the field. The method is quick, straightforward, and accurate (see below). This is possible through SmartScan CQ and CZ sensors’ built-in data acquisition devices that produce digital values in engineering units (°C for example).
